It's Official........Summertime is back in gear!

School is out in Las Cruces as of this past Wednesday. I have been counting down to that day for a long time and I can't believe it's finally here. Yesterday, the first day of summer, couldn't have been spent any better. We got up without an alarm clock, ate breakfast together, went to story time at the library, rode our bikes to the pool, swam, ran into Kelly and the kids at NMSU and played at the duck pond and in the sprinklers............basically as Emma would put it, we played all day.

I do have a summer job this year, it will be at NMSU teaching math to middle and high school age kids in a pre-engineering program called PREP. It only lasts 5 weeks and pays really well so it was hard to turn down. It will also be nice to be teaching kids that are really into learning and excited about math, science, and engineering. It's basically me when I was a kid. After that we will be flying out to Rhode Island to visit Lindsey's dad, Tom. I'm looking forward to just hanging out at the beach with everyone and running.

As for triathlon, I'm going to start getting back into the shape I'm used to. Right now that means swimming, biking, and running consistently. I'm not going to worry about distance or speed for now. My goal is to be in great shape later in the season and do well at the later stuff like SOMA half ironman in Tempe, AZ, in late October. I'll do my best to keep things updated regularly.

Great song and video of Pat Green's Wave on Wave.

Sugarland's Settlin'

It's been a while since my last post, I know. One thing I wanted to share with whoever looks at this blog was a few pictures from a concert we were at recently. We went to Phoenix for the 2007 Flip Flop Summer Tour with Pat Green, Sugarland, and Kenny Chesney. It was a great concert at an outdoor venue. People were just having fun everywhere and really celebrating summertime. Lindsey and I had a lot of fun and getting to see our favorite act in Kenny Chesney was awesome. Going to a concert is one of those things where you always say how cool it would be but sometimes you put it off for whatever reason. We did that last year and regretted it. So think about those things you always wish you could do but never get around to it..........and DO IT. Take advantage of the time you have here and live it up, don't be settlin' with just getting by.
