This cracks me up! Let's all be SUPER natural!!

We haven't updated for a little while because to be honest, there is not a whole lot going on. We went to LC last weekend to help celebrate my niece's 8th birthday. Man how time flies! We even got to watch her play in her last soccer game. Mike and I were able to get out on our bikes and get in some good riding together so that is always good. This last week we had a track meet in Silver City and we didn't get back to Socorro until close to 2 AM! We did win the 8th grade girls meet however, and we have been able to maintain a perfect record of 3 meets and 3 wins. It was also the first time our 8th grade boys did not win. They ended up in 2nd place to Safford, AZ, which we beat earlier this season. Our last meet of the season is this Thursday in Deming and then I should really have more free time to do more family stuff and training. We are all looking forward to summer. I even have a countdown on my classroom board and we have like 23 school days left!

Happy Birthday!

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate!

Happy Birthday Steven! Thank you for being a wonderful friend, husband, and father. I look forward to sharing many more with you...you are a blessing to me and Emma, and I thank you for all the love you share with us. Love you...Lindsey

The indoor pool is now an outdoor pool!

Happy Easter

Confidence Booster

We haven't had very many nice days lately here in NM. It has been so windy day after day with cold and some rain. Today however, was one of the nicest days we've had. Temps in the high 60's and little to no wind at all. The cherry on the sundae is that we had a 4-day weekend from school so I was actually able to take advantage and get in a bike ride. I rode solo from the house, South on highway 1. It is a 2 lane road with little traffic especially the farther you get out. About an hour South you ride through a wildlife refuge known particularly for the birds that reside there. It is not uncommon to see deer and coyotes. I rode for 2 hours then turned around and was able to finish in 4 hours. I did start dying on the way back but I stopped at a gas station and refueled and felt so much better. Total milage was 65.

My top 10 favorite things

1. starting "real life" with Lindsey
2. my family
3. summer
4. caliche's
5. my bikes
6. green chili cheeseburgers
7. getting a magazine in the mail
8. triathlons
9. "daddy" days
10. a Coke after a good workout

So it's April already and things are going great training wise. I keep a log of everything I do because I enjoy seeing my progression towards my goals. Now that March finished I was happy to see that I have doubled and tripled my hours from January for the months of February and March respectively. April has always been a good month for me for whatever reason, maybe because of my birthday and I'm trying to fight the inevitable, but I know I can increase my training hours agan this month. It has sometimes been difficult but this last week I was able to wake up at 5 am twice and get a decent workout in before the day starts. It's good to get it in before the day starts and to see and feel the improvements happening. Thanks for checking in.
